By Kitui Digital Reporter
Governor Julius Malombe’s administration has rolled out close to 3,000 development projects across Kitui’s 40 wards and 247 villages.
From Health and Water to Roads, Agriculture and Education, the projects paint the picture of an administration focused on grassroots transformation.
Today, we break down the achievements sector by sector. Let's look at:
The milestones in the DEPARTMENT OF LANDS, HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT
This department has implemented 61 projects focusing on urban transformation and land management.
Key interventions include installation of 2,462 solar streetlights across urban centres, improving security and extending business hours as well as urban aesthetics.
The county department has also constructed 458 parking facilities in both Kitui and Mwingi municipalities and 4.38km of stormwater drainage systems in major towns thus reducing flooding risks in urban centres.
The department is developing a Land Information Management System (LIMS) to digitize land records and improve revenue collection.
The 2,931 projects implemented under the Malombe administration reflect a transformative development journey anchored on equity, inclusivity, and service delivery.
Every department has contributed to building a stronger, more resilient, and economically empowered Kitui County.
