By Kitui Digital Reporter
Since assuming office in August 2022, the administration of H.E. Dr. Julius Malombe has implemented a total of 2,931 development projects across Kitui County.
These interventions span all 40 wards and 247 villages, touching every sector of the county economy and social life.
The projects reflect a deliberate focus on inclusive growth, service delivery, and transformation under the Kitui Promise development agenda. Let's break down the achievements sector by sector.
The DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM, HOSPITALITY, DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE CONTRACTING
The department has implemented several tourism-related projects alongside institutional reforms.
The development and launch of the Kitui Tourism Circuit was a master stroke since it positioned Kitui as an emerging tourism destination linking Nairobi, Coast, and Mt. Kenya regions.
The circuit features the mythical Nzambani rock, South Kitui Game Reserve, Mutomo reptile park and local heritage sites.
The department also institutionalized performance contracting to enhance accountability, transparency and results based service delivery across all departments.
Disaster preparedness has been strengthened through construction of the Kitui County Emergency Response Centre, at Manyenyoni to enhance coordination and ensure prompt response to emergencies and disasters.
The 2,931 projects implemented under the Malombe administration reflect a transformative development journey anchored on equity, inclusivity, and service delivery.
Every department has contributed to building a stronger, more resilient, and economically empowered Kitui County.
